TapMeForLife Instructions
How to activate your tag, create your account, edit your profile, and use your emergency page
What TapMeForLife Does
TapMeForLife lets you connect an NFC tag and QR code to your emergency profile page. When someone taps your tag or scans
your QR code, they can view your emergency profile and quickly access emergency actions such as contact calls, SOS location,
and important medical information.
Important: Your public emergency profile is intended to help responders or nearby people access the information
you choose to share.
Before You Start
- You need a valid Activation Code from the TapMeForLife admin.
- You need an internet connection to register and save your profile.
- You should prepare your emergency contacts and medical details before editing your profile.
Registration is protected: New users cannot create an account unless they have a valid activation code.
Step-by-Step: First-Time Setup
Step 1 — Get Your Activation Code
Ask the TapMeForLife administrator for your activation code. This code links your account to your NFC tag.
Step 2 — Open TapMeForLife
Go to the main app site:
https://app.tapmeforlife.com
Then tap Activate Tag.
Step 3 — Enter Your Activation Code
On the Activate Tag page, enter the activation code provided by admin, then continue to the registration page.
If your NFC tag was tapped directly, the app may automatically send you to registration with your code already filled in.
Step 4 — Create Your Account
On the Create Account page, enter:
- Activation Code
- Username (this becomes part of your profile link)
- Password / Passcode
Check the consent box for Terms & Privacy, then tap Create Account.
If successful, your code will be assigned to your username and you will be redirected to your profile editor.
Step 5 — Complete Your Emergency Profile
In the Edit Profile page, you can add:
- Profile photo
- Emergency contacts
- Medical ID details (blood type, allergies, medications, etc.)
- Modes (Child, Student, Senior, Rider, Driver, Professional, etc.)
- Vehicle and roadside details (optional)
- Medical and vehicle PDF documents (optional)
- Preferred background image for your public profile
Tap Save Profile when done.
Step 6 — View Your Public Emergency Page
After saving, you will be redirected to your public emergency profile page (read-only view), where responders can see
your emergency information.
Your link format is:
https://app.tapmeforlife.com/@yourusername
How NFC Tap and QR Code Work
NFC Tap (Tag)
- Responder or user taps the NFC tag with a phone.
- If the tag is already assigned, it opens your public emergency profile page.
- If the tag is not assigned yet, it opens the registration page with the code.
QR Code
- Your public profile page shows a QR code for your profile.
- Anyone can scan it to open your emergency profile page.
How to Log In Later
- Go to
/login.html or use the Login button on the home page.
- Enter your username and password.
- You will be redirected to the Edit Profile page to update your details.
How to Use the Emergency Buttons (Public Profile Page)
- Emergency Contact Buttons (Red): Calls saved emergency contacts immediately.
- SOS: Share Exact Location (Dark Button): Requests GPS permission and generates a shareable Google Maps location link.
- Find Nearest Hospital / Clinic: Opens Google Maps search based on the current location.
- Find Nearest Police Station: Opens Google Maps search based on the current location.
- Emergency Services Buttons (Red): Calls emergency numbers such as ambulance, police, or fire.
GPS Reminder: SOS and nearest-location buttons require location permission from the phone/browser.
If permission is denied, those features will not work.
Important Tips for Users
- Keep your emergency contacts updated.
- Double-check your medical info and phone numbers.
- Upload clear profile photos and readable documents.
- Test your NFC tag and QR code after setup.
- Do not share your password with anyone.
Troubleshooting
“Invalid code” during registration
Your activation code may be incorrect, already used, or not generated yet. Contact the admin.
Cannot log in
Check your username/password. If you still cannot log in, contact the admin for account recovery/reset assistance.
Profile photo or PDF not showing
Try uploading again, make sure the file is supported, and confirm internet connection is stable during upload.
SOS / nearest hospital / nearest police not working
Make sure location services are enabled and browser GPS permission is allowed.
Using Multiple Tags for One User (Recommended)
TapMeForLife supports the idea of one user profile with multiple NFC tags pointing to the same emergency profile.
This is useful if you use more than one helmet, vehicle, or gear.
Recommended Setup
Use different activation codes (different tags) for each physical item, but link them to the same user profile.
- 1 user profile = one account (example:
@juanrider)
- Multiple tags = multiple physical stickers/cards/helmet tags
- All tags can redirect to the same emergency profile
Examples
Example A — Two Helmets (same rider)
- Helmet 1 tag code → linked to
@juanrider
- Helmet 2 tag code → linked to
@juanrider
Both helmets open the same emergency profile, so the rider only maintains one profile.
Example B — Two Cars (same driver/family owner)
- Car 1 NFC/QR tag code → linked to
@mariasantos
- Car 2 NFC/QR tag code → linked to
@mariasantos
Both cars point to the same profile, useful for one owner using multiple vehicles.
Important: Do not duplicate the exact same code across multiple physical tags if possible.
The recommended setup is to use different tags/codes linked to the same profile for better tracking and easier management.
If a Tag Is Lost, Damaged, or Stolen
- Contact the TapMeForLife administrator immediately.
- Request the lost tag/code to be deactivated or deleted.
- If needed, request a replacement tag/code and link it to your same profile.
This helps prevent unauthorized use of a lost tag while keeping your main profile active.
Good practice: Keep one profile updated, then add more tags only when needed (extra helmet, extra car, bag tag, etc.).
Privacy & Safety Reminder
Only place information in your profile that you are comfortable sharing on your emergency page. Your public profile may
be opened by anyone who taps your NFC tag or scans your QR code.
